Catalina Morales who was once told her dreams of IT networking career would be too hard for her to achieve, is set to prove her detractors wrong with an incentive from NetCom Learning. Catalina is the winner of the monthly December 2012 Sarder Scholarship which provides $2500 which can be used for NetCom Learning courses. The child of first generation immigrants to this country, her parents told her she was here to get ahead in life and learn everything she could. A single parent, Catalina is the recent graduate from community college with an Associate’s degree in Business which she accomplished by working every job she could get.

Catalina has been working since she was fifteen and has always had an affinity for computers and technology. According to Catalina, “I am always the one that family members call for help with their computer woes. By winning this scholarship I will be able to turn my hobby into the start of a successful career.”
Her immediate plans are to become certified in CompTIA A+ and Network+. When she has completed A+ and Network+ she plans to pursue the Cisco Certified Networking Associate certification and the Cisco Certified Networking professional certification. She also hopes to complete her Bachelor’s degree in information technology. Catalina states that winning the Sarder Scholarship is giving her the head start she needs to set her plans for the future in motion for a successful career in IT.
The Sarder Scholarship is awarded on a monthly basis to a qualified applicant looking to advance their career in IT. The $2500 scholarship award can be used toward live online classes or any regular classroom course. The scholarship is named after the company’s co-founder who is an ardent believer in the need for lifelong learning.
