According to the article published by The Maneater, a University of Missouri professor conducted a study, which found that people who eat breakfast with a high protein content actually have healthier eating habits throughout the day. The article says Assistant Professor Heather Leidy, a member of the MU Nutrition and Exercise Physiology Department, studied 20 overweight females from ages 18 to 20.
The participants were split into groups, the article says. Some skipped breakfast, while others ate a breakfast with a normal amount of protein or ate a breakfast with a high amount of protein. Leidy and her team of researchers monitored caloric intake, dietary fat, fiber, sugar and energy density. The study found that the participants who ate a high-protein breakfast snacked less during the day.
