Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 24, 2013
Brillare Hairdressing Academy, a Phoenix-based independent cosmetology school, has announced its first ever scholarship program that will award $10,000 in scholarships this summer for students to attend either of the school’s campuses in Arizona.
Brillare Academy will award two $2,500 scholarships for newly enrolling students to attend Brillare Hairdressing Academy’s Phoenix Campus and two $2,500 scholarships for students to attend Brillare Hairdressing Academy’s Scottsdale Campus.
To apply, candidates must download and complete the scholarship application available on http://www.brillare.com, write a 300 - 450 word essay describing why they want to be a professional in the beauty industry, and compile up to six photos of hairstyles that the applicant has created.
Applicants must send the completed application, essay and photos to Brillare Hairdressing Academy, via e-mail to info(at)brillare(dot)com or by mail to Brillare Hairdressing Academy, C/O Anaphora, LLC, 301 E. Bethany Home Rd., Suite C-275, Phoenix, AZ 85012. All entries must be received via e-mail or postmarked no later than June 15, 2013.
“Brillare Academy’s curriculum is designed for students who are serious about a career in cosmetology,” said Christa Jones, CEO of Brillare Hairdressing Academy. “We are excited to launch a scholarship program to recognize students who demonstrate that they have the drive and passion to succeed in the beauty industry. The scholarship program is open to high school seniors as well as any new applicant interested in cosmetology who meets the scholarship requirements.”
A scholarship committee made up of representatives in the beauty industry will review all submitted essay entries. Entries will be judged on criteria including content, creativity, syntax, spelling and grammar, as well as the candidate’s ability to
show they are motivated and enthusiastic about being a beauty industry professional.
Recipients must enroll at Brillare Hairdressing Academy by August 31, 2013 and start a cosmetology program by September 23, 2013 or they will lose eligibility for award of the scholarship. The application must be received on or before the student's start date and no later than June 22, 2013. The scholarship may not be transferred to any other college, university, vocational training program, or exchanged for cash.
The scholarship becomes null and void if the student drops or does not maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP). The scholarship will be paid in four installments, one per payment period. For students transferring cosmetology hours to Brillare Academy, the $2,500 will be prorated.
To be eligible for the 2nd and subsequent payments, the recipient must be in good academic and attendance standing, may not be on warning or probation, must maintain a cumulative GPA of 75% or better, and must have an attendance record of 85% or better. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and must have a high school diploma or equivalent at the time of the program start. All interested prospective students who meet the timeline and other qualifications may apply.
