"We want to help youth understand the importance of living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle." - Geoff Sullivan, Owner & Coach, CPC
East Longmeadow, MA (PRWEB) April 26, 2013
Healthy habits must start early and the youth in our community need the proper guidance and education to steer them toward making positive changes early on. Continuum Performance Center, the leader in athletic conditioning and training, has expanded its signature programming to include a youth only sector. A first of its kind for western Massachusetts, CPC’s Youth Team Training sessions focus on the youth as an individual with tailored workouts to fit his/her personal needs. These exclusive training sessions instruct youth on proper mechanics, guide through balanced workouts, educate on proper wellness, provide nutritional materials, and help to give an overall boost in confidence.
The expanded programming provides CPC’s superior conditioning techniques and training that is offered to adults, to youth ages 10-15+. Owner Geoff Sullivan explains, “Each and every one of CPC’s staff members have coached youth sports for quite some time including middle and high school track, soccer, golf, baseball, wrestling, ice hockey and field hockey. This launch is something that’s been in the works for a while and now that we have the resources and staff, we are moving forward with this permanent, year round program.”
Over the course of four weeks, participants will engage in 2 or 3 after-school sessions per week. They will receive a wide variety of programming and educational material focusing on speed & agility, balance & coordination, and dynamic movement patterns. CPC’s Youth Team Training is open to the following age groups: 10-12, 13-14, and 15+. Each session will be designed to fit the developmental needs of the group and training is available for any child regardless of their current activity level.
Sullivan adds, “This is something that is critically important for us to offer. We want to help youth understand the importance of living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They will not only feel better about themselves, but also the choices they will make in the future. It will be physically and mentally demanding but we need to show our youth that hard work and dedication pay off.”
Group sizes are small and space is extremely limited. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
