Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 25, 2013
As an official Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Partner, the American Brain Tumor Association’s running and endurance program, Team Breakthrough, is able to offer a limited number of post-close bibs for the October 13 event.
Marathon participants who register through Team Breakthrough and commit to fundraise on behalf of the ABTA receive their race entry, a comprehensive training plan with Chicago Endurance Sports, a personal Team Breakthrough fundraising web page, personal fundraising support, fundraising rewards, a pre-race pasta party, and race day access for runners and their cheering squads to the ABTA tent located in the Chicago Marathon’s Charity Village for gear check, refreshments, photo-ops and post-event massages.
Last year, Team Breakthrough’s 72 runners raised more than $135,000 – the largest amount in the seven years the ABTA has been an official Bank of America Chicago Marathon charity.
“We are fortunate and grateful to have had so many amazing Team Breakthrough athletes over the years who have applied the same level of commitment, discipline and heart to their fundraising efforts as they have to their marathon training,” says ABTA National Director of Events Katie Purdy. “And we’re excited to see all of the new and returning athletes who are joining us this year to help the advance the mission of the ABTA.”
Team Breakthrough is the national endurance program for the ABTA, and includes half marathons, full marathons and triathlons across the country. For more information visit http://www.abtateambreakthrough.org, call the ABTA’s Event Line at 800-886-1281 or email events (at) abta (dot) org.
