The AQR Insight Award recognizes outstanding unpublished papers that provide the most significant and practical insights for tax-exempt institutional or investor portfolios. Professor Feldman, and three colleagues submitted an academic paper trumpeting the results achieved by Digital Trowel’s The Stock Sonar sentiment analysis tool versus the results of the S&P 500 for the past 10 years. Using Digital Trowel’s patent pending technology for sentiment analysis, The Stock Sonar is the ultimate decision support tool for traders and investors, providing a one-glance quantified assessment of the financial, news and social media sentiment relevant to trading decisions.

“The results speak for themselves”, Professor Feldman said, “in qualifying The Stock Sonar as a game-changing tool in making investment decisions. AQR described the submission as a striking example of cutting edge theory with great potential to influence the financial industry”.

Later this month, the five finalists will travel to Greenwich, CT to present their research to AQR’s investment teams. The award will recognize up to three exceptional papers and the authors will share a prize of $100,000.
