From April 22nd-26th, The United Outreach Ministry led a tent revival to promote Christian outreach. (At a tent revival, Christians gather in a structure raised for the event.) The United Outreach Ministry teamed up with the Center Hill Baptist Church and the Chapel Hill Baptist church to put on the event, which was a first-time occurrence. Its focus was outreach with a goal of saving souls.
The United Outreach Ministry is a multiracial, nondenominational church, with a goal of reaching the soul of Jesus Christ through any possible means. They organize and host clothing drives, community giveaways, and outreach. Each branch of the church—men, women, and youth—focuses on a different type of outreach project.
The United Outreach Ministry supports the Tater Patch, which is a children’s ministry that focuses on charity work and learning the Bible. They often do random acts of kindness for strangers, such as washing cars and providing other types of assistance.
The tent revival took place at Rocky Hock Playhouse, which is a musical theatre with a Christian focus. The Rocky Hock Playhouse is located in Edenton, NC and is operated by the Emmerich Theatre Co., Inc..
