New Jersey creative content company PoetCode, producer of the ground-breaking Dynasty of the Magi dual-platform interactive eBook/MMO game franchise, has won three awards at the third annual eLit Awards ceremony this month in New York. The eLit Awards that Dynasty of the Magi received include a gold medal in the “Best Popular Culture” category, a gold medal in the “Best Book Multi-Media Produced” category and a silver medal in the “Best Fantasy/Science Fiction” category.
The 2013 eLit Awards, presented by Jenkins Group Inc., are a global awards program that serve to honor the best of English language digital publishing entertainment. The eLit Awards are committed to celebrating the ever growing market of electronic publishing and highlighting the best in electronic reading entertainment. More than 50 awards categories are offered solely to the electronic book medium.
Previous awards and acclamations that Dynasty of the Magi has received include the “Most Fundable Startup” award at the April 2013 STARTUPALOOZA in New York City and the Publishing Innovations Awards’ “Best Transmedia Project of 2012”, as well as the “Quality, Excellence, Design” (QED) seal that serves as the “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval™” for eBooks.
Dynasty of the Magi was introduced by PoetCode as a trial version for iPad on the App Store in December of 2012. It is the first ever interactive eBook and Massively Multiplayer Online game in one that allows the reader/gamer to shape the outcome of the eBook fantasy series through gameplay. The app is now in the process of being updated based on user feedback and has an expected App Store and Google Play Store release in early summer 2013.
