Newport, KY (PRWEB) April 29, 2013

The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association, (PRSM), the authority on retail, multi-site facilities management, at PRSM2013 National Conference released its 2013 Best Practices book of retail facilities management case studies and white papers. The book informs the industry on how to improve the bottom line at retail stores by strategically driving efficiencies through effective retail facilities maintenance.

This year’s compilation includes content from more than 30 retailers, including adidas America, Big Lots Stores, Car Toys, Inc., Dollar Tree Inc., Gap, Inc., Mastermind LC (or Mastermind Toys), Nike, Inc., PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc., Staples, Inc. Canada, The Home Depot, Rite Aid Corporation and The Pantry, reflecting grocery, convenience store, apparel and furniture retail market segments, from big to small-box format.

Noted in this year’s edition is evidence of the maturing of recent trends, for example, in more widespread use of energy efficient lighting. Examples of lighting retrofits in this edition demonstrate how retailers have moved from testing to implementing large-scale projects, with documented, positive results. The same is true with their ongoing experimentation with mobile technologies, creating efficiencies in their field service operations especially.

Doug Lackey with Divisions Maintenance Group authored the whitepaper “Planned Lighting Maintenance Programs” in the 2013 Best Practices book. This whitepaper examines the benefits of a proper Planned Lighting Maintenance Program for exterior lighting of retail and commercial facilities parking lots, parking garages and surrounding areas. It also discusses the type of program approach that achieves the best-in-class exterior lighting maintenance to increase budget control, reduce liability and cost, achieve peak performance, and elevate safety and patron satisfaction.

“This book is a testament to the experience and collective wisdom of PRSM members,” said Patricia Dameron, Executive Director, PRSM Association. “Our member professionals possess a wealth of knowledge and real-world insight, so much of which is captured in this year’s edition of the book.”

PRSM Association’s 2013 Best Practices book is available in limited print edition and by request to Communications_PR(at)prsm(dot)com.
