Help Restore Piermont Community Garden, One Brick at a Time

The Piermont Community Garden, a vital part of the Village for 18 years, was completely destroyed when hurricane Sandy blew a 9-foot storm surge at high tide. Located on the Hudson River, all 72 gardening beds were washed away.

Rebuilding After Hurricane “Sandy”

Spring restoration efforts include new brick pathways, irrigation system, and handicap accessible gardening beds. Piermont community garden was recently awarded a one year supply of Milorganite organic nitrogen fertilizer to aid in their rebuilding efforts. The garden will be rebuilt by members and volunteers. Piermont Community Organic Garden

Since 1995 Piermont Community Organic Garden provides a place for residents to grow food and flowers in a manner that does not harm the environment, while encouraging friendships and cooperation. Members also donate produce to local food pantries through the Plant a Row for the Hungry program.
