Bon Secours New York Health System’s Schervier Nursing Care Center, specializing in long-term and rehabilitation care in the Riverdale section of The Bronx, has proudly named Sarah Brako, registered nurse, as its March 2013 Values in Action award recipient.

Schervier Nursing Care Center’s prestigious Values in Action award is presented monthly to honor an individual who embodies the mission of Schervier and exemplifies Bon Secours’ core values, namely delivering superior quality care and service to each resident with compassion, respect, integrity and justice. Brako, a registered nurse at Schervier Nursing Care Center, was nominated for the award by her peers for her expertise in assessing changing medical conditions, working effectively as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, and consistently providing support to Schervier’s long-term care residents.

“Sarah has made countless contributions to our community at Schervier,” said Stephen Kazanjian, Director of Mission at Schervier. “She serves as a kindhearted nurse on a busy sub-acute unit, and is dedicated to optimizing the health of her residents. Sarah was selected for the quality and compassionate care that she continually provides to all of our residents.”

A Values in Action ceremony was held in honor of Brako on April 24, 2013, to celebrate her accomplishments and positive impact on Schervier’s campus and its residents. She was presented with a certificate of excellence, along with a small gift on behalf of Schervier by Kazanjian.
