Elmer’s One Hour Air, a San Antonio air conditioning and heating company, was proud to be part of the 2013 Susan G. Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure. In all, more than 25,000 took part in the race, which raised more than $1 million for breast cancer research and treatment.
Elmer’s One Hour Air is closely connected to the fight against cancer. Elmer Zubiate, the company owner, lost his mother to cancer and dedicated his company to her honor. In memory of his mom, his fleet of company trucks is pink.
“Race for the Cure is always one of my favorite times of year,” said Zubiate. “It’s always so great to see so many people out there for such a great cause.”
As part of the sponsorship, the Elmer’s One Hour Air team handed out water to the runners and walkers at the one-mile mark. More than 30 team members were on hand to volunteer their time.
“The whole company gets behind this message and this cause,” said Zubiate. “It’s engrained into everything we do.”
Elmer’s One Hour Air plans to again be a sponsor for the 2014 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, which will take place April 5, 2014.
