American Addiction Centers’ Mike and Betty Blackburn are the recipients of the Connecticut Labor Assistance Professionals (LAP) Chapter’s Champion Award, which recognizes the couple’s dedication to assisting LAP with alcohol and drug treatment and mental health services. Together the couple has more than 40 years of experience in the EAP/MAP field and has served thousands of union members, retirees and their families.
On Wednesday, April 24, Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn received the Champion Award at the 1st Annual Labor Luncheon in Stratford, CT. The luncheon benefited Member Assistance Programs, Labor Assistance Programs and Employee Assistance Programs developed within the Labor chapter, and recognized the key role Labor plays in the treatment field.
Luncheon attendees were able to meet and network with the Connecticut LAP award recipients and LAP members.
Mr. Blackburn, Senior VP of Business Development at American Addiction Centers and Battalion Chief/Director of EAP for the Providence Fire Department, Local 799, said, “We’re thankful for the union’s loyalty and friendship, and the fact the union assistance professionals trust us enough to have us place their members and families in treatment. It’s an honor they allow us to work with them.”
