Jon MacLennan, capable guitarist and teacher with Guitar Control.com, is featured in this quick clip in which he teaches comping with country guitar. Comping is actually a common jazz term that basically refers to the chords and/or rhythm guitar that’s used to support another musician’s melody lines or improvised solo.

As far as guitar lessons go, this one seems simple enough for even beginners to follow, as Mr. MacLennan has a way of explaining things in an easy to understand manner. Also, the video only lasts for around 4 minutes, so there’s not too much info to take in at one time. Furthermore, since the lesson is free it can be watched unlimitedly, and the musical notation or country guitar tab is available as well for additional assistance.

Chet Atkins was a prolific American guitarist that was born on June 20th, 1924 in Luttrell, Tennessee. He is considered one of the pioneers of guitar country songs and what came to be known as the Nashville sound. Chet created his own distinct picking style and was quite innovative with his use of country guitar chords. In fact, some of his licks played an important part in the evolution of popular music.

So it seems that when it comes to online learning, guitar lessons are definitely in the mix. Whether it may be rock, blues, jazz, or country guitar lessons that someone is looking for, there is bound to be some helpful information found on the internet, which is of course always just a click away!
