"As interest and activity [in AccelerateNFC] has grown, we felt that Tech Success' annual event serves as the perfect arena to officially launch our program."
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) April 30, 2013
OTA Ventures announced today that its new AccelerateNFC incubator program will exhibit this evening at Dallas’ Tech Success 2013 event, hosted by The North Texas Regional Center for Innovation & Commercialization (North Texas RCIC).
Featured over the past few months in publications like The Dallas Morning News, Mobile Commerce News, and Wired World magazine, the AccelerateNFC incubator program is designed to nurture, mentor, advise and help fund NFC-based start-up companies to fill the void in technological and application development that will enable and support businesses to drive the growth and adoption of near field communication (NFC). It has chosen Tech Success 2013 for the “official” launch of its program. Attracting more than 300 entrepreneurs, technologists, academia, political leadership and top business executives from the entrepreneurial community, Tech Success 2013 is an annual celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship.
According to co-founder and mentor, Robert P. Sabella, “We’ve been focused for the past few months on identifying and attracting the best and brightest thought leaders in the NFC ecosystem to serve as mentors for our new technology start-up incubator program. And as interest and activity has grown, we felt that Tech Success’ annual event serves as the perfect arena to officially launch our program.” Sabella added, “We continue to see growth in the adoption of NFC; however, there is no support system for less experienced entrepreneurs in the industry. Up to five selected companies will attend an intensive 12-week mentorship program that delivers mentors’ deep collective expertise in go-to-market strategy, product development, distribution and fundraising, all of which can help rocket a company into the national marketplace.”
The environment in Texas is perfect for business start-ups as evidenced by Gov. Rick Perry’s focus on attracting high-tech companies to his state. “In Texas, we understand that high-tech companies don't just happen overnight but are a product of forethought, sound vision and planning, and strategic investments by both the public and private sectors.” (1) The AccelerateNFC program follows the same philosophy. The program will begin taking applications immediately, with selected participants announced October 15. Then beginning November 1, participants will begin a 12-week, intensive program culminating in a showcase and product launch at Austin’s South by Southwest event in March 2014.
