Layton, UT (PRWEB) May 01, 2013
From May 27 to May 31, 2013, Wayman Publishing is holding a special giveaway event based on random acts of kindness. For this event, bloggers will post anecdotal stories about a random act of kindness that changed their lives.
Wayman’s authors are all climbing aboard the random-act-of-kindness bandwagon. Leading up to the giveaway event, Dee Ready, whose book A Cat’s Legacy: Dulcy’s Story was published by Wayman last May, will donate 100 copies of that book as well as its companion, A Cat’s Life: Dulcy’s Story, to local nursing home residents. Ready hopes to inspire similar random acts of kindness both by Wayman authors and others who want to participate in this life-changing event.
A Cat’s Life: Dulcy’s Story, published by Crown in 1992, has touched the lives of thousands of readers who have responded to Dulcy’s voice and her story of how she trained the author to be a one-cat human.
In A Cat’s Legacy, Dulcy provides twelve habits of highly successful felines and their humans and reveals that she used these habits in training Ready. Because so many readers wrote the author about how they never doubted Dulcy was speaking to them, Ready believes that Dulcy channeled both books through her.
Elisa Hirsch, cofounder of Wayman Publishing and a gifted violinist, will give the 100 books to the residents at several nursing homes. She and her husband, Cade, who plays guitar, and their four children will entertain the residents with songs, merriment, and conversation and offer each of them the gift of a cat memoir.
Many studies have shown that the blood pressure of nursing home residents lowers when they hold visiting pets. Ready hopes that the stories within these two books will bring back fond memories to these residents and also enhance their health.
In addition to giving away an iPad Mini during the random-acts-of kindness event, Wayman Publishing is also offering a chance for writers, accomplished and novice, to be published in their upcoming Random Acts of Kindness Anthology. All profit from this project—through December of 2013—will be donated to charity.
Wayman Publishing's last anthology, Open Doors: Fractured Fairy Tales, was a resounding success; all of the project's profit from 2012 was donated to a local children's hospital and many lives were blessed.
