Orlando, FL (PRWEB) May 01, 2013
Adacel announced today that they have successfully completed delivery and installation of a suite of Air Traffic Control (ATC) training simulators purchased by Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The simulators installed at the University’s brand new Transportation Education Center, opened in October 2012, include Adacel’s high-fidelity MaxSim Tower and several MaxSim Radar suites. Southern Illinois University offers an extensive aviation program and their instructors bring a wealth of experience in both the civilian and military sides of the ATC field that allows them to extend experiential knowledge to their students. Adacel’s simulators will provide the immersive, hands-on environment needed to augment the University’s ATC training curriculum.
Adacel’s ATC simulation systems have proven to be very effective in developing higher proficiency levels at an earlier stage in controller training. The simulators are designed to provide ATC students with realistic hands-on practice that reinforces learning from the basics of phraseology and communications through the advanced skills required to be a competent controller. Southern Illinois University students who go on to pursue an ATC career will benefit from using virtually the same Adacel simulators that are used by the FAA and much of the U.S. military.
