Bluff Point Associates (BPA) announced today that J. Robert (Bobby) Jones has decided to retire from his position at BPA.
Bobby joined Bluff Point in 2007 to focus on sourcing and negotiating new investments for BPA, a mid-market private equity firm which invests in the financial technology (fintech) and health care information technology (HCIT) sectors. Since then, Bobby has introduced a number of potential investments to BPA. Most recently, he worked with the senior management of Wealth Management Systems, Inc. (WMSI), a BPA portfolio company, when WMSI acquired 100% of Archimedes Systems, Inc. on October 1, 2012.
Bobby also serves on the boards of Aplifi, Inc. and Administrative Systems, Inc., also BPA portfolio companies, and represents BPA and other former Matrix shareholders on the board of ASPire LLC, a Florida-based TPA, a position which he will continue to hold.
Tom McInerney, CEO of BPA, stated “Bobby has been an important part of BPA’s activities over the last five-plus years. We thank him for his contributions and wish him continued success in the future.”
Jones stated, “I have enjoyed working with BPA and the portfolio companies. Having had two jobs for the last 25 years – previously as head of Business Development for BISYS – my wife Susan and I are looking forward to extended travel, spending more time with our 3-year old twin granddaughters and working on our charitable causes in the immediate future.”
Jones is Chairman of Golfers Against Cancer, which was founded in 1997 to fund specific cancer research projects at leading institutions across the nation. In addition, he is a Trustee of The Florida State University Foundation where he has served as Chairman of the Board as well as the Investment Committee.
