St. Louis (PRWEB) May 01, 2013
Carl A. Balderson, senior director of quality assessment services at Honkamp Krueger & Co., P.C. (HK), will be speaking at the New York Institute of Internal Auditors 40th Annual Audit Seminar on May 3, 2013.
Balderson’s presentation, “Quality Assurance and Improvement Program: Audit Process vs. Program: The Difference and Why It Matters,” will discuss the often seen mistake of considering basic internal audit processes as working components of an audit activity’s Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs (QA&IP).
The presentation will focus on recent practice guides which describe how a successful QA&IP should take into account the four primary elements of stakeholder satisfaction, key audit process metrics, innovation and capabilities. By exploring these key elements, Balderson will show participants how to construct a workable, cost-effective QA&IP that meets the conformity test of an internal quality assessment.
Balderson holds the credentials of CPA, CIA and CFE. In 2002-2006, he was chair of The IIA International Committee on Quality after having served as a committee member for two years. He has also served in a variety of executive financial and operational positions and has been involved in numerous quality assessment service engagements for top national companies.
