Little do you know, but someone could be compromising your system at this very moment.

Saint Louis, MO (PRWEB) May 01, 2013

As information technology breaches continue to dominate the headlines, many corporations are scrambling to secure their data networks. Fortunately for them, renowned cyber security expert, Adrian Crenshaw, will share his insight at St. Louis’ very first hacking and offensive cyber security conference – TakeDownCon.

Crenshaw, who runs the information security website Irongeek.com, specializes in developing articles and videos on a variety of cyber security tools, thus creating a more comprehensive guide for the end-user. The focus of his presentation will center on the history of web shells, how they operate, and how they are obfuscated.

“Little do you know, but someone could be compromising your system at this very moment,” said Adrian Crenshaw, founder of Irongeek.com. “In an effort to combat these attacks, I have written a script that will specifically look for unique web shells within your system, allowing you to identify the vulnerability and anticipate the next attack.”

St. Louis-based ethical hacking firm, Parameter Security, will sponsor the two day conference, which will run from June 3rd through June 4th. In addition to Crenshaw, the conference will feature a total of 10 speakers including Twitter’s Charlie Miller and co-founder of Parameter Security, Dave Chronister.

“As hackers continue to wage war on cyber security, it is essential to be proactive as opposed to reactive,” said Renee Chronister, co-founder and CEO of Parameter Security. “By offering up experts such as Adrian Crenshaw, we can educate and alert information security professionals to the latest attacks, threats and defenses – making them more conscious of the dangers their system face and ways to thwart such attacks.”

TakeDownCon-St. Louis will be held at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, Missouri. For more information on Adrian Crenshaw, the conference or to register in advance, please visit http://www.takedowncon.com/stlouis.
