Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative, Texas.
Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative (STEC) is a member owned electric utility that provides electric service to around 9,109 meters within 7,200 square miles of rural West Texas. Southwest Texas is a member of Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and Texas Electric Cooperatives.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequence, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard & Control Panel, Remote Alarm Annunciation, SCADA Add-In, Virtual RTU and External Clock Interface.
“We welcome Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative to our ever growing family of Survalent SCADA system users,” states Mike Roth, Vice President of Sales for the Central United States. “As a member of the Golden Spread Electric Cooperative G&T, STEC will benefit of the synergies associated with the use of a standardized Survalent SCADA solution for most of the G&T members. The new system will allow STEC to automate their process of monitoring their distribution network and to improve their reliability indices.”
