Waterloo, ON (PRWEB) May 01, 2013
Launched in 2012, HYPERDRIVE is a $30-million incubator that seeds and mentors tech startups, helping them become venture-backed businesses.
“We’ve been impressed with the caliber of companies coming through HYPERDRIVE, many of which fit strategically with Rebellion’s vision,” said Ted Hastings, CEO of Rebellion Media. “It was time to further our partnership with HYPERDRIVE and become an active investor in the program.”
HYPDERDRIVE has successfully launched 18 companies in two cohorts since its inception. Many of the companies have secured follow-on investment after their 90-day sprint through the program. Incentivibe, a demo day graduate from HYPERDRIVE’s first cohort, was acquired by Rebellion Media earlier this month.
“Rebellion has been a great partner for HYPERDRIVE, offering coaching and mentorship, and opening their doors to our high-performing startups,” said Doug Cooper, Managing Director of HYPERDRIVE. “Rebellion shares our vision for HYPERDRIVE, so we welcome them wholeheartedly as an investor in the program.”
