Seattle is proving itself to be a leader in the green revolution. This is displayed by the recent opening of the six-story, 50,000 square-foot Bullitt Center on Earth Day, April 22nd. This iconic building on Capitol Hill displays the future possibilities of green technology. The Bullitt Center hopes to self sustaining. It displays an overhanging roof lined with solar panels to power the entire facility, as well as a giant cistern that can hold more than 56,000 gallons of rainwater. It is said to be 83% more efficient than similar commercial buildings and it puts this on display for all to see.
This building is a spectacle for the Seattle community and will help to lead the city to a greener future. This encourages not only local commercial operations to build green but also local residents to build green custom homes.
