San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 02, 2013

Edtuit, Inc., a player in the field of online discovery of membership deals, today announced a deal of its own - the acquisition of GreenStack, Inc., another company in the mobile membership deal discovery market.

“GreenStack’s technology and relationships will help accelerate our mission to unlock location based savings opportunities quickly and conveniently for consumers,” said Marten Nelson, CEO of Edtuit.

Edtuit is the developer of GeoPerks™ and Reward Explorer for iPhone. GeoPerks is a web service that serves membership benefit information, such as discounts and rewards, and maps them to geo locations where those benefits apply.

With GeoPerks, companies improve customer retention by managing and tracking usage of their third party membership benefits. Companies can list their membership benefits with GeoPerks for free and using the API, third party developers can include the membership benefits in their own web and mobile apps.

Reward Explorer is a mobile app that uses the GeoPerks API to show a person’s eligible membership benefits and perks at a particular location.

GreenStack launched at TechCrunch Disrupt SF in 2012 and offered a mobile app to consolidate membership benefits with retailer discounts, loyalty programs, and cash back programs to maximize consumers’ savings.

GreenStack was selected as an Official Honoree in The 17th Annual Webby Awards in the Lifestyle category.

Aspects of the GreenStack methodology and technology will be folded into the Edtuit platform, enhancing the benefits for membership programs and consumers alike. “We are excited to join Edtuit and combine our resources and cumulative knowledge,” said David Hehman, CEO, GreenStack.

With this acquisition, Edtuit is better positioned to capture a larger share of the membership rewards market. The company currently tracks over 11,000 perks covering more than 250 membership programs at more than one million U.S. locations.
