Durham (PRWEB) May 02, 2013
Lora Brooker has spent the last 13 years in the service industry, first at Durham’s well-known Magnolia Grill, a James Beard Award winning restaurant with the last three years of her tenure as the general manager. After that, she was the Event Lead and Manager of The Catering Company. Brooker will be taking over as General Manager and Director of Events starting May 1st.
"We are unbelievably excited and lucky to have Lora coming on board. She is so knowledgeable about the hospitality and event industries and shares the passions we try to extol in our Inn - she loves great food, great beverages, and has years of experience perfecting the customer experience," says Deanna Crossman. Deanna and her husband Colin Crossman are the owners of the 17-room boutique Bed and Breakfast that just celebrated it’s fourth anniversary.
Booker added, “I have known Deanna and Colin Crossman since shortly after their award-winning renovations of The King’s Daughters Inn. As a professional hospitality manager, I have catered many weddings and other special events at this lovely historic property and so I am well aware of it’s beauty, grace and versatility. As a Duke grad (T’92) Trinity Park neighbor, and fellow small business owner, I appreciate the Crossman’s investment in Durham and I am delighted to join the fantastic team already in place at the Inn.”
