Tom Wheeler was nominated today by President Obama to serve as the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)*. The Alliance for Community Media (ACM) congratulates Mr. Wheeler.

ACM also congratulates Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, who will serve as acting leader while Wheeler awaits Senate confirmation. "We also congratulate Chairman Clyburn on her historic appointment as the first woman chair of the Federal Communications Commission,” continued Strobel. “Commissioner Clyburn has been a longtime friend and advocate for community media.”
