San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 06, 2013

EnvironmentalLights.com, a leading online resource for high-quality, energy-efficient LED lighting systems, recently added an extensive line of LED puck light and downlight kits to their growing line of LED under cabinet lighting systems. This new line is an easy-to-use and affordable solution for brightening up functional work areas, retail displays, kitchen counters, closets or tight spaces. Orders placed between May 1 and May 31, 2013 will receive 10% off plus free ground shipping when the promotion code PUCKSALE is used.

“We are excited to add these kits to our expanded line of LED under cabinet lighting,” said Alicia Cheng, Director of Product Engineering. “They are one of our first all-inclusive LED lighting systems that are ready to purchase with no additional components needed.”

A unique feature of these LED puck light and downlight kits is the high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 80+. CRI is the measurement of how faithfully a light source reveals the colors of objects, ensuring truer colors and minimizing color distortion. The index range is from 0 to 100. The higher the CRI, the better the color accuracy. CRI is an important lighting feature for skin tones, decorating, merchandising and more.

“These plug-and-play kits make it easy for anyone to quickly install quality LED lighting in their home or business, without hiring a professional electrician,” said Lauren Rueda, Product Engineer. “Each kit comes with the lights, power supply and splitter required for installation, making wiring and dimming simple.”

LED Puck Light Kits

Each LED Puck Light kit comes with three puck lights, a UL-listed 12 Volt DC 12 watt adapter and a three-way splitter. The power adapter can be plugged into any 120V outlet, making installation fast and easy. EnvironmentalLights.com offers options for dimming the lighting system, including their Mini Touch Dimmer and Mini Sensor Switch.

“With only three Surface Mount Device (SMD) LEDs per puck light, these lights are incredibly bright, energy-efficient – only 3.6 watts each – and space saving,” said Rueda. “Plus the durable high-grade aluminum construction serves as an efficient LED heatsink, resulting in 85% energy savings when compared to incandescent lights.”

The LED puck lights are available in three finish options (black, white, silver), and each model is available in both soft white (3,000° K) and neutral white (4,000° K). They have a 90 degree beam angle and can be easily surfaced or flush mounted to suit the application. Each light has a surface mount ring for mounting, which can also be removed for flush mount installations. This system also offers the flexibility to be wired into other LED under cabinet lighting systems.

LED Downlight Kits

LED Downlight kits feature six downlights, a UL listed 350 mA constant current power supply and splitter. EnvironmentalLights.com offers 4 downlight model types: narrow beam, wide beam, gimbal narrow beam and gimbal wide beam angle. The gimbal allows for rotation of the light direction. The narrow beam angle models feature integrated focusing lenses that produce a fixed 45 degree beam angle of light, whereas the wide angle is 120 degree. All models are available in both soft white (3,000° K) and neutral white (4,000° K).

“The constant current power supply included in the kit is short circuit and overload protected and accepts 100-240 VAC and outputs 350 mA,” explained Cheng. “Constant current LED systems are advantageous because they provide a constant flow of current to the LEDs and produce a steady output of light, thereby protecting and extending the lifetime of the LEDs.”

All four LED downlight kit models can be installed as recessed or flush mount fixtures and are only 2 inches in diameter, making them ideal for retail applications such as display cases where they won’t clutter or distract from the selling space.
