Belle Vernon, PA (PRWEB) May 06, 2013
Guttman Oil Company, a petroleum marketer with operations in fourteen states in the eastern United States, announced that it is creating a retail energy supply company called Guttman Energy to provide natural gas and electricity services to end-users.
Guttman Energy is registering and obtaining licenses to become a retail energy provider in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and is projected to be operational by the end of 2013. Guttman Energy will offer natural gas and electricity to customers in deregulated areas where sales are open to retail competition.
Leveraging Guttman Oil’s 82 years of experience and expertise—as well as a robust, loyal customer base of thousands—Guttman Energy will serve commercial and industrial customers through a combination of channel partners and direct sales. “Guttman Energy will add value in these markets through a strong combination of customer commitment, consultative energy expertise, and sophisticated supply and hedging capabilities,” said Richard Guttman, president of Guttman Oil. “Commercial and industrial companies that have benefited from Guttman Oil’s ability to help them strategically purchase and manage fuel can now leverage Guttman Energy to accomplish similar objectives for their natural gas and electricity needs.”
Gary Smelko, formerly executive vice president of marketing at Guttman Oil, will lead Guttman Energy as executive vice president. Joining Gary as vice president and general manager is industry veteran Michael Young. “Michael brings over 30 years of retail energy industry experience to Guttman Energy and will play a critical role in building out the organization and helping us translate our petroleum supply chain expertise to the natural gas and power markets,” said Gary Smelko. “Guttman Energy is actively seeking talented individuals in the areas of IT, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply and Trading, Operations, Human Resources, and Legal and Regulatory.”
