Generations Federal Credit Union will host a Small Business Boot Camp that will provide emerging entrepreneurs with critical information in order to build a successful business. The eight-week series will feature five classes that will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 15, May 29, June 5, June 26 and July 24. Classes will include Small Business Overview, The Business Plan, Financials and Projections, Entity Formation and Becoming Loan Ready and will be held at the Credit Union’s branch located at 6000 N.W. Loop 410 (78238).
“Business planning and formation can be confusing and very intimidating. Rather than guessing or “winging-it,” what potential small business owners need are tools and information,” said David Rodriguez, Financial Education Advocate for Generations FCU. “Through the boot camp workshops, participants will be able to make intelligent and informed decisions, thereby removing some of the anxiety of starting their own business.”
The Small Business Overview class will provide participants with an understanding of how to research business-relevant data, trends and consumer statistics, business types as well as formation, and where to get help along the way.
The Business Plan will discuss how to create a detailed business plan that will serve as a guide for starting and navigating their businesses. Financials and Projections will provide essentials for understanding and reading an income and balance sheet and develop a breakeven analysis. Entity Formation, will enable attendees to determine the business structure that best fits their needs, and one that will help them protect their personal assets.
The final class, Becoming Loan Ready, will provide small business owners with information on financing that will best fit their business needs and what information they will need to have before, during and after loan submission.
