The principals at Universal Funding enjoy kidding around as well as the next business, but this spring they took it to a new level.

In these hard times, charities are having a hard time soliciting the donations that they need to support the good work they do for our community.

Universal Funding’s principals decided to make a new twist on giving. Recently, as a joke, they teamed up with the Giving Star foundation and their eighth annual “Send a Friend a Goat” fundraiser.

Yes, a real live (Capra aegagrus hircus) domesticated baby goat. Don’t worry, nothing happened to the goat. He actually had a good time and the customer got quite a laugh out of it too. The goat spent a few hours entertaining employees and customers alike.

Wishing Star is celebrating 30years of changing lives, one wish at a time. Over the past 30 years, they have worked with over 1,250 wish children and their families. This event generated enough money to grant over 28 wishes.

Monica Wozow, principal of Universal Funding said, “We particularly enjoy supporting organizations like Wishing Star whose focus is on helping children.”

The Wishing Star Foundation, grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3 and 21, who live in Eastern and Central Washington and Idaho. A child does not need to be terminally ill to qualify for a wish.

Wishing Star is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  They depend on gifts from individuals as well as businesses like Universal Funding. Wishing Star is proud to report that only 5% of funds go towards administrative costs.

Universal Funding advances money to both small and medium sized businesses based on that company’s accounts receivables. In the past, companies needing cash for expansion were forced to approach banks or private lenders for loans. These lenders in turn looked to the company’s hard assets for collateral. And all too often the loans were turned down or came with exorbitant fees.

The factoring invoices and factoring receivables services provided by Universal Funding are a very attractive alternative to traditional bank loans. In this case, the client company’s accounts receivables can be advanced up to 90%. With low fees and fast turnaround, often in a matter of days, more and more businesses are turning to this attractive alternative.

This financing option is not new to the business world, but what makes Universal Funding unique is its roots of family ownership and its customized customer care. Universal Funding takes the time and energy necessary to get to know each of its customers and then creates a customized program that is unique to that customer and their needs.

Not all businesses are the same, nor are their financial needs. That is why any factoring receivables agreement should be highly tailored to the specific needs of your business. With Universal Funding’s executive family having over 65 years of combined experience in factoring receivables, businesses can be confident that they are in good hands.
