Quantum Learning Network (QLN) announces their partnership with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) to launch SuperBizCamp, a highly-concentrated “mini-MBA” course in entrepreneurship for teens.
SuperBizCamp will debut at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, July 28 to August 4. Enrollment is limited to 80 participants, for students entering grades 10-12.
During this innovative 8-day residential program, students acquire a foundation of sound business principles and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. The course focuses on the basics such as supply and demand, return on investment and marketing, and then takes the understanding of entrepreneurship to the next level by teaching essential life skills such as critical thinking, communication, relationship-building, and stress management.
SuperBizCamp takes the concept of owning your own business out of the classroom and into the real world. Students have the opportunity to design a product, buy supplies, participate in a selling event, and meet local entrepreneurs. Each participant in the program will develop an original idea and then create a business plan to bring their idea to life. At the end of the program, students will present their proposals to a panel of judges for a chance to win seed capital.
“Parents want their kids to learn business and entrepreneurship skills because it clearly sets them up for a lifetime of success in a highly competitive and global economy,” says NFTE’s Victor Salama. “Clearly the best way for students to learn about business and become successful in life is in a focused, collaborative environment where the learning becomes meaningful, approachable and engaging. That’s why we’re partnering with the world’s leading academic summer program, QLN’s SuperCamp.”
