The Sagamore on Lake George in Bolton Landing will re-open on May 3, 2013 and resume its former status as a year-round resort, on a slightly limited basis. This exciting new change at the resort comes as a result of significant investments by the owners to restore the property to its former glory as a Historic Hotel and one of America’s “Grand Dame” resorts. Bought in 2008 by Ocean Properties, Ltd., the resort has undergone major renovations and additions each year during the “off-season” in order to improve the guest experience. In 2013, when the resort re-opens on May 3rd for leisure guests, it will introduce more renovations and improvements, as well as stay open for weekend guests during the winter, which is the first year it has done so since 2008.

“Each winter since 2009 we have been under significant construction and renovations to improve the resort and ultimately the guest experience. Now that we have completed the major projects, we are thrilled that we can once again resume our year-round status and showcase this property throughout the year,” said Tom Guay, General Manager of The Sagamore. “Not only is this great news for our guests, but the town of Bolton Landing will also benefit from the resort staying open in the winter.”

Improvements to the resort for 2013 include the completion of the refurbishment of all Lodge Suites and Rooms, the Conference Center receiving a total facelift and the addition of two new Executive boardrooms. But perhaps the most exciting improvement is the renovation of the Spa and Salon at The Sagamore.

The new Spa and Salon features 14 spa treatment rooms; 11 massage rooms, one of which is for couples and three of which are dedicated to facials. The new Salon area has four styling stations, four manicure stations and four pedicure stations. The entire Spa and Salon area, located on the lower level of the resort, was renovated to allow for bigger locker rooms, a larger lounge area and an enhanced reception and retail area. The floor to ceiling renovation also includes new restrooms and fixtures. The overall décor of the Spa and Salon was completely redone in natural hardwoods with glass and tile all in soft, relaxing colors to soothe the soul and rejuvenate the body.

Another significant enhancement for the season is the completion of a total renovation of all the Lodge Suites and Rooms at the resort. The Lodges have been totally updated to create a more modern, sleek look while still fitting into that “Adirondack Chic” décor theme. The new updates include tile flooring, carpet and wallpaper, stainless steel kitchen appliances, beautiful new cabinets and gorgeous granite countertops in the Lodge Suites. The Lodge Rooms have new soft furnishings, including bedding, window treatments and carpet.

One last improvement to note, particularly for groups, is the complete refurbishment of the resort’s Conference Center, located in the center of the island. New furniture, carpet, wallpaper, lighting and tile have all enhanced the center and rejuvenated it to a light, airy space perfect for meetings. Finally, the resort added two new Executive boardrooms, Crown and Dome, named after two of the prominent islands on Lake George. Each will accommodate 12-14 attendees and are centrally located in the Main Hotel.
