We have set a new standard for fleet excellence, and for the presentation of fleet excellence awards.

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) May 08, 2013

Over 1,600 fleet professionals packed the Grand Ballroom at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on Tuesday, April 23 for the debut of NAFA’s Fleet Excellence Awards Night. Designed to recognize fleet professionals in a manner reminiscent of industry award presentations like the "Oscars", NAFA’s event presented six industry awards to fleet professionals throughout the United States and Canada in the categories of safety, sustainability, and overall outstanding achievement. A seventh award was presented in the category of fleet leadership.

"We wanted to create an event that would showcase not only the best in fleet management, but that would also reflect the status and stature of the fleet industry itself," said NAFA’s Executive Director Phillip E. Russo, CAE. "Having a packed house of 1,600 people, feeling the buzz in the room that night, and experiencing the sheer joy and enthusiasm from nearly everyone in that room, I think we can easily say, ’mission accomplished.’ We have set a new standard for fleet excellence, and for the presentation of fleet excellence awards. It is unparalleled in the world and gives our Flexy awards instant credibility."

The Fleet Excellence Awards, or FLEXY for short, were judged by a panel of industry leaders, media representatives, and NAFA committee leaders. Submissions were narrowed down to three finalists per category with the winner announced live on stage. Representatives from Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Canadian Automotive Fleet, Fleet Management Weekly, Light & Medium Truck, and The Municipal, served as award presenters.

NAFA will begin accepting submissions for 2014 Fleet Excellence Awards in September. Information will be posted on NAFA’s official website, http://www.nafa.org.
