Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 07, 2013
SeniorHomes.com, an online directory and resource for seniors and their families searching for senior care or senior housing, today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind, numerical ratings system for senior communities nationwide. Launching initially in the Seattle, Portland, and Phoenix markets, SeniorHomes.com will be assigning ratings based on a 10-point scale to senior living communities in the top 50 markets across the nation. The top rated communities in each of these markets will then be recognized in the “Best Senior Living Awards” program. To learn more about the awards program and view a complete list of award recipients in the initial launch markets, visit the Best Senior Living Awards home page at http://www.seniorhomes.com/p/2013-best-senior-living-awards/.
“From hospitals to business schools, consumers are looking for expert guidance to help them make the best choice possible. This is especially true for senior living communities where there are often many choices but a dearth of objective information,” said Chris Rodde, CEO of SeniorHomes.com. “To address this need in the market, SeniorHomes.com has developed a scoring methodology which will allow us to systematically and quantitatively rate senior living communities in the 50 largest metropolitan areas of the country. Through this program, we hope to assist seniors and their families make more informed decisions as well as recognize the most outstanding communities across the nation.”
To calculate a rating for each senior living facility, SeniorHomes.com has created a proprietary weighted scoring system which incorporates resident and family reviews, ratings from local industry experts, public state inspection data, and other key factors. Following the initial three market launch, SeniorHomes.com will expand the Best Senior Living Awards to the rest of the US with the goal of identifying the top senior living communities in the US and in each market. After announcing the awards winners in all 50 markets, SeniorHomes.com will announce the Top 100 Senior Living Communities in the US later this year.
“Having this type of objective rating system in place will better equip seniors and their families to properly evaluate their options when it comes to choosing the best senior communities,” said Brett Robinson, Vice President of Sales for Leisure Care LLC., one of the largest privately owned operators of senior living communities in the United States and Canada. “We are truly impressed by the effort and attention to detail SeniorHomes.com has invested into this ratings system. Their scoring methodology is supported by a variety of key, weighted metrics that taken together should help every senior community improve their service offerings and will also be an invaluable resource to seniors and their families. SeniorHomes.com ratings have the potential to be as impactful as word of mouth advertising in shaping the customer’s decision making process.”
