Over the last 21 years, HoCo Habitat has built 46 homes in Houston County. Using donations, they purchase materials and volunteers help a carefully selected family build their home. Each family must contribute 400 to 500 hours of sweat equity. Habitat sells the home to the Partner Family for the cost to build and finances it with a no-interest mortgage. Monthly mortgage payments are about $325. The repayments go into the HoCo Habitat Fund for Humanity to help build more homes in Houston County.
