Vero Beach, FL (PRWEB) May 09, 2013
Communications International ("Ci"), a premier integrator of public safety communications technology, is pleased to announce it has been awarded a seventeen-site microwave project by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Ci will design, install and optimize a new microwave infrastructure to support the Sheriff Office’s radio system, a massive three-cell trunked simulcast system that is the largest of its kind in the state. The microwave network will support numerous public safety and public service agencies and serve as the primary communications link to radio sites throughout the County.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office communications management team began the project by addressing equipment obsolescence issues. The assessment of the eighteen year old microwave network concluded the need for a complete system refresh in order to ensure continued reliable communications for the First Responders who rely on the system which includes the Sheriff’s Office and the cities of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City as well as the University of South Florida, Hillsborough Community College, and the University of Tampa.
The Sheriff’s Office turned to Ci, its local service partner, to get the job done. Steve Fisher, Ci Chief Engineer, states: ''We designed a self-healing microwave network that will improve system reliability, provide additional capacity, and accommodate future expansion needs. The wireless system will use licensed frequencies and advanced IP technology. We are excited about this project and the safety benefits it will have in the region.”
