Networking is essential in any business, but even more so in a people business such as sales.
New York City, New York (PRWEB) May 09, 2013
The Holiday Inn in New York City is conveniently located close to many of New York City’s big attractions, including Central Park and Times Square. Although the hotel is just a short journey from Red Ten NYC’s head office in Manhattan, representatives from the firm’s Boston division were also in attendance and took the opportunity for some sightseeing before the conference started. The venue is a popular choice for corporate events due to its suite of dedicated conference and meeting rooms.
Over 250 professionals from across the Northeast states were in attendance, ranging from promising salespeople in the early stages of their career through to regional managers. There were 6 key speakers, all of whom had successfully run one or more sales companies. The theme of the conference was becoming a better leader, and topics included effective training, team development, creating a positive working environment and driving sales. The event also allowed time for a meet and greet session with the speakers and a networking session. Red Ten NYC found this particularly useful as it allowed them to gain face time with professionals they would not normally get the chance to meet. A source from Red Ten NYC reported: “The seminars were very informative, and it was even better to get the chance for follow-up questions with the speakers. Regional conferences such as this are valuable in providing the opportunity to meet with people from different cities – some of which are several hours’ drive away. It’s refreshing to hear new ideas, or even gain a fresh perspective on an old topic. Networking is essential in any business, but even more so in a people business such as sales.”
The team at Red Ten NYC are fans of Ivan Misner, author of several business networking books. His Entrepreneur.com article ‘Why So Many People Resist Networking and Miss Out’ reveals that many business owners avoid networking due to a lack of confidence or impatience. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/226359 Red Ten NYC believe that networking can build confidence and if cultivated correctly, can lead to long-term business relationships that are beneficial to both parties. Everyone in attendance went home with several new business contacts and plenty of new information to help take their careers to the next level.
