Chicago, Ill. (PRWEB) May 08, 2013
April 2013 marked the first time Cherry Logistics, a performance leader in facilities maintenance and emergency services, delivered an educational presentation at a national conference in the company’s ten-year history. The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM) held its 2013 National Conference in Dallas at the Omni Dallas Hotel and adjoining Dallas Convention Center in April. Titled ENGAGE, this conference was the largest annual gathering of retail industry facilities maintenance professionals, with attendance numbering more than 1,900.
“Several months ago, PRSM’s education specialist reached out to ask if we would be interested in presenting on “Fundamentals of Vendor Qualification” during their Fast Track Education sessions,” said Chris Clark, Cherry Logistic’s Director of Sales & Marketing. “Cherry Logistics was already scheduled to exhibit at the conference and Michael D'Aversa agreed to develop and deliver the presentation in Dallas, so we gave it the green light.”
D’Aversa, who has been with the company since 2009, has spent over 25 years in both the buyer and seller roles of the vendor/customer relationship. He has a background in training and development, as well as public speaking.
During “Fundamentals of Contractor Qualification,” D’Aversa discussed the objective of contractor qualification, strategic considerations, vendor identification scenarios, qualitative and quantitative validation practices, and actual results achieved by Cherry Logistics by using best practices.
Educational opportunities at PRSM’s annual conference were organized in response to PRSM member survey responses that track the most challenging aspects of retail facilities maintenance. This year’s selection of educational topics included a variety of trade-specific subject matter, management and operational issues, sustainability and vendor/retailer relations.
The Fast Track Trades Education sessions are intended to provide a fast, fun, and focused experience. Back-to-back presentations each offer one topic by one presenter, who is limited to 20 slides in 20 minutes.
