Stony Creek Beer Company, a locally owned craft beer enterprise, is now offering its third American-style India Pale Ale, under the label Stony Creek (401) IPA, produced specifically for beer fans in Rhode Island. The new (401) label joins the brewer’s two initial Connecticut offerings launched last year. Stony Creek’s (203) IPA and (860) IPA are brewed specifically for beer patrons living in the 203 and 860 area code exchanges covering both southern and northern Connecticut.

“Stony Creek Beers were conceived, designed and crafted locally – it’s simply great beer, from great people, for great people,” proclaims Ed Crowley, Jr., Stony Creek Beer’s new president, and beer lover. “We developed, tested these recipes and remain closely involved in every aspect of its production, marketing and distribution. The (401) IPA is now being distributed in Rhode Island, and Stony Creek plans to also offer seasonal beers starting in early fall 2013.”

Like Stony Creek’s first two IPAs, (401) IPA will embody a distinctively American IPA flavor, using Cascade hops from Washington State’s Yakima Valley, and light crystal specialty malts for enhanced flavor and aroma. Though proprietary, the recipe for each of Stony Creek’s IPAs varies from label to label. “Our IPAs are totally handmade and entirely local,” says Crowley, a 10-year beer-making enthusiast who has been crafting and distributing a variety of local beers from Florida to Connecticut. “We’re all very passionate about drinking and creating a true craft beer,” he adds. “And since we believe craft beer is an adventure and a destination, we encourage our fans and fellow beer lovers to ‘make it a local call’ by looking for our labels in local bars, restaurants and stores.” Tastings are being offered at locations and events across the state – a partial list can be found on the company’s website.

The Stony Creek Beer Company is owned by Stony Creek Brewery, LLC, is a member of both the Brewers Association and the Connecticut Craft Beer Guild and is excited to be distributed through Dichello Distributors, Inc., Hartford Distributors, Inc., Levine Distributing, Inc. and now through Rhode Island Distributing.
