From May 8th to 9th May 2013, the Canada India Business Council(C-IBC) will host the first ever Canada-India Oil & Gas Forum.
“India is the world’s fourth largest consumer of oil and gas and is looking to diversify its sources of supply. Canada needs greater security of energy demand to develop its abundant reserves of unconventional hydrocarbons.”

It will also discuss obstacles to energy collaboration and how to remove them.” said Peter Sutherland, President & CEO of C-IBC.
Supported by the governments of Alberta, Canada & India, C-IBC will host a half day forum for senior industry leaders & officials from both countries to identify promising opportunities, forge partnerships, and move forward.
Specific panels will address:
- India’s energy needs: enhancing synergies in hydrocarbons;
- Opportunities for Canada-India energy collaboration;
- Challenges in realizing bilateral oil & gas opportunities.
The Hon. Cal Dallas, Minister of International & Intergovernmental Affairs, Government of Alberta will deliver keynote remarks.
