The Cradle of Hope™: Campaign for Healthy Babies is Baltimore Healthy Start, Inc.’s public awareness initiative to engage communities across Maryland in the effort to have all babies born healthy, reduce low birth weight and premature births, rally support of women who have experienced the loss of a baby, and assist teen-aged girls and women between conception.
Baltimore Healthy Start, Inc. is hosting its 6th Annual Cradle of Hope Luncheon and Awards Ceremony to honor those who have worked to make a difference in the lives of at-risk pregnant women and infants. Keynote speaker, Lisa D. Delpit, author and Felton G. Clark Professor of Education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, will share insights on the education gap and its impact on health disparities from a national perspective. Special Cradle of Hope awards will be presented to the Honorable Donna F. Edwards, U.S. Congresswoman for Maryland’s 4th Congressional District and Janice Frey-Angel, President and CEO of the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition.
The 6th Annual Cradle of Hope Luncheon is scheduled for Friday May 17, 2013, from 12noon to 2:00 p.m. will be located at The Forum Caterers, 4210 Primrose Ave, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.
