Each number following the FUV designates a separate optical density at which absorbance and stray light tests can be carried out (e.g. the FUV0.5 has an optical density of 0.5 and can be used in tandem with other NSG filters at that density). The NSG FUV-0.5 stray light filter is the only absorbance standard that can be used to verify stray light performance for spectrophotometer calibration in both in the UV and VIS range.
