The latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the legal sector added 2,100 jobs in March. This is the second straight month in which the legal industry has added jobs. The industry added 3,500 jobs in March, according to the revised BLS reports.
LawCrossing.com, which focuses only on legal jobs, has been able to find 57,000 job openings as of May 10.
The job openings on LawCrossing.com also show that while the job openings have not reached their pre-recession levels, there are still thousands of jobs across the country. Out of the 57,000 active job openings on the site, there are 32,000 attorney jobs, and an additional 1,400 are partner opportunities.
The site also has 1,700 jobs for law students, 124 positions are for judicial clerkships and 500 positions are for summer associates. There are also 14,000 legal staff job listings on the site.
