Top Genetic and Cellular Researchers Honored at ASGCT 16th Annual Meeting

Dr. Mark Kay, Stanford University School of Medicine, will receive the ASGCT Outstanding Achievement Award and Dr. John Rossi, from the Beckman Research Institute City of Hope, will receive the Special Recognition Award.

The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is honored to recognize two leading researchers for their contributions to the genetic and cellular field at its 16th Annual Meeting to be held in Salt Lake City.

The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is honored to recognize two leading researchers for their contributions to the genetic and cellular field at its 16th Annual Meeting to be held in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Mark Kay (Stanford University School of Medicine) will receive the ASGCT Outstanding Achievement Award for his nearly 20 years of dedication to the field of gene and cell therapeutics. His numerous demonstrations in pioneering research have also made him a recognized author with over 10,000 referenced journal citations. As a true leader not only in research, but within the Society as a whole, Kay was an original founding member as well as a past president of ASGCT. Dr. Kay’s Outstanding Achievement Award Lecture will take place on Friday, May 17, from 8:00am-9:00am.

The ASGCT Special Recognition Award is also given in acknowledgement and appreciation of an individual’s many scientific contributions and dedication to not only the Society itself, but to the field of gene and cell therapy. Dr. John Rossi, from the Beckman Research Institute City of Hope, is the Society’s 2013 recipient. Dr. Rossi’s leadership role in educating others within the Society, as well as his influence in their research yields significant respect and appreciation.
