Blimpie®, America’s Sub Shop®, has recently launched an eGift program that allows customers to send and receive Blimpie gift cards via email or mobile phone. eGifts can be purchased at http://www.blimpie.com or on the Blimpie Facebook Page and are redeemable at Blimpie locations by simply presenting the eGift on a mobile device or via a printed email to the cashier.
“With technology today, a trip to the store to buy a gift card is no longer necessary,” said Steven Evans, VP of Marketing for Blimpie. “Now you can give the gift of a delicious Blimpie Sub instantly, straight from your phone or mobile device.”
Blimpie’s eGift program is part of a larger Gift Card rollout. Traditional plastic gift cards are now available at Blimpie Store locations nationwide.
Additional Information About The eGift Program
To send an eGift, consumers simply need to know the email address and mobile phone number of their desired recipient. The new eGift platform has also launched with social media integration, allowing consumers to sign into their Facebook account and post a customized message to Facebook during the eGift purchasing process. Additionally, consumers have the option of including a personal photo and/or a custom audio recording with the eGift. Photos can be chosen from the consumer’s library of photos in their Facebook account via the social integration functionality or simply selected from any saved photos on their computer.
Next, recipients receive an e-mail or text message, delivering the eGift with its associated redemption code. Following the instructions provided, the recipients can redeem their gift at a Blimpie store location at any time thereafter.
The new Blimpie Gift Card program, including the eGift platform, launched March 18th, 2013 and has already seen great participation rates around the country.
