Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI), the world leader in indie book publishing, announced that Keith Ogorek, ASI senior vice president of marketing, will speak at the Blue Ridge Mountains Writers Conference banquet and awards dinner Wednesday, May 22. Titled “The Second Gutenberg Effect,” Ogorek’s presentation will compare the emergence of self-publishing to the invention of the Gutenberg printing press, as far as its impact on writers.
“I hope to encourage writers to take advantage of the variety of publishing options available to them for sharing their message today,” Ogorek said. “It’s a great time to be an author; it’s a great time to finally publish that book.”
Ogorek has self-published two books: A Clear View: The Formation and Impact of World View; and a children’s book, Eli the Stable Boy, based on a story Ogorek told to his daughters throughout their childhood. As well, Ogorek published the eBook, “The Seven Secrets of Successful Self-Published Authors.”
On May 22 from 1:30–2:45 p.m., Ogorek also will offer his popular “Four Paths to Publishing” presentation. During it, he will define four distinct publishing options available to all authors, regardless of experience. The conference takes place May 19–23 at the Ridgecrest Conference Center in Ridgecrest, NC, and features dozens of workshops, practicums and continuing classes.
