AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, updated the website recently and they are now actively providing expert opinion in view of the recent news on Yasmin Side Effect lawsuits.
As Thomson Reuters published on March 20, 2013 Bayer agreed to settle lawsuits alleging gallbladder injuries from Yasmin and Yaz. Yasmin, which was approved by the FDA in 2001, and its sister drug Yaz, which was approved in 2006, are oral contraceptives that combine estrogen and a fourth generation progestin, drospirenone, to prevent pregnancy. Yasmin and Yaz are manufactured by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals. As Thomson Reuters reports “Bayer will pay $2,000 to plaintiffs who suffered gallbladder injuries and $3,000 to individuals who had their gallbladders removed, according to the agreement”.
Court data updated on March 5, 2013, by the US Judicial Panel on Multi-District Litigation (MDL), indicate that there are 9,566 actions currently pending in the Yasmin/Yaz MDL (MDL 2100, US District Court, Southern District of Illinois).
Taking into consideration the latest developments, AttorneyOne.com updated the website and, now, can actively provide an expert opinion including how to get in contact with legal counsel easily and inexpensively in case of alleged Yasmin and Yaz severe complications. Sean Burke, director of Media Relations at AttorneyOne.com, adds that the relevant information illustrates that people continue to file Yasmin and Yaz lawsuits. "For that reason", he continues, "our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.”
On April 10, 2012 the FDA announced that, based on the review of recent observational (epidemiologic) studies, the agency has concluded that drospirenone-containing birth control pills may be associated with a higher risk for blood clots than other progestin-containing pills. FDA added information about the studies to the labels of drospirenone-containing birth control pills, including Yasmin and Yaz.
AttorneyOne.com has further information on Yasmin and Yaz lawsuits including how to get in contact with legal counsel.
