Oil and water, black and white, science and religion: polar opposites can be powerful complements.
Marlon Sias and Adrian Zenz make a powerful team: Sias’ experience in Biblical studies and theology complements Zenz’ background in scientific academic research and socio-linguistic analysis. Together, they have written a well-researched, impactful theological piece on the rapture and the future of the church, “Worthy to Escape.”
“Worthy to Escape” takes the reader on a fascinating journey through the pages of the Bible, showing how Biblical prophecies from Daniel to the Book of Revelation point not to just one but two raptures.
“Jesus' second coming and God’s description about it in His Word are just like looking at a coin,” Sias says. “On the head side are various things written which describe that side, the tail side has a different description, and the edge is yet another look; but it is all the same coin.”
Systematically examining inconsistencies within the pretribulational rapture doctrine, Sias and Zenz address how they can be resolved through a two-fold rapture: one before the tribulation, and a second one before God's wrath. In that way, they complement the pretribulation rapture view by skillfully combining it with the increasingly popular pre-wrath rapture position.
Through their book, Sias and Zenz have one ultimate goal: to bring an often-misunderstood topic into an understanding and acceptance among Christians across the denominational spectrum.
“Many believers think that they will be raptured just-in-time before the tribulation – regardless of their spiritual preparedness,” Zenz states. “But that is not what Scripture says. Our book intends to prepare God's church for the times ahead, so that we will indeed be 'worthy to escape all these things' as Jesus said.”
