Goal Zero products have been tested extensively by Heart Rate Watch Company chief tester John Yarington in the backcountry for charging his Smartphone and GPS watches.
Yarington recently returned from a backcountry skiing trip in Kyrgyzstan and had nothing but praise for how handy his Goal Zero Guide 10 Plus Mobile Kit. He used it to charge his Smartphone where he stored several downloaded books for reading and for recharging his GPS watch daily.
Yarington also tested this system in the rugged Beartooth mountains of Montana.
Goal Zero makes ultra-light and portable solar panels. The Goal Zero Guide 10 Plus Mobile Kit has a solar panel that weighs just over one pound, so that it can be hung off a pack with a cord running to the battery pack and charges up quickly during travel.
Other Goal Zero Options
The Goal Zero Switch 8 Recharging Kit uses smaller tubes that can be recharged, so the tubes weigh significantly less that the four AA battery packs. The tubes are great for portable charging for a tablet, Smartphone, GPS watch or any device that uses a micro USB or USB connection. This makes it great for daily use and in the backcountry.
"We think there is a huge market for this type of portable power supply because most people we talk with are not aware of it yet and when they hear about it they are excited," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company.
Goal Zero even makes complete solar charging systems that can power a small cabin and all the appliances and make a great back-up system for a home.
All Goal Zero products are available for the Heart Rate Watch Company.
