El Paso, TX (PRWEB) May 15, 2013
In celebration of Military Appreciation Month, the El Paso Dealers Association will be holding their annual golf tournament and this year, it will benefit the Family and MWR program for soldiers at Fort Bliss. John Luciano, President of the El Paso Dealers Association and General Manager of Dick Poe Toyota will be joining the civilian and military participants in the event on May 20, 2013 at Underwood Golf Complex, located at 3200 Coe Avenue, Building 3193 in El Paso. The event includes lunch, awards presentation and a variety of prizes in addition to the golf tournament itself. The event is expected to raise more than $10,000 for the Family and MWR program at Fort Bliss.
The Family and MWR program at Fort Bliss provides soldiers, both active and retired, as well as their families and friends with a network of support and leisure services. MWR stands for Morale, Welfare and Recreation, which is what this great program is dedicated to providing to its participants. The program helps to enhance quality of life for soldiers, and provide them and their families as well as retirees and civilians with a greater sense of community. It also provides a variety of programs that range from the Soldier and Family Assistance Center, which assists wounded soldiers and soldiers in transition to programs that help both soldiers and their families learn to cope with the everyday stress that can come from living in a military environment. Currently there are more than 15 programs available to soldiers and their families. As John Luciano explains, “MWR - Morale, Welfare and Recreation. It is all about the quality of life for our Soldiers. It is a small thing we do for those who do so much for us. We want to help the soldiers and their families have a great life and enjoy our community."
As President of the El Paso Dealers Association and General Manager of Dick Poe Toyota, John Luciano has sponsored and support many events that help give back to the community and those that are a part of it. This dual role allows him to help bring together a network of auto dealerships in the El Paso area to join Dick Poe Toyota to help better the community and its residents now and for the future. In anticipation of this year’s golf tournament, Luciano is happy to say, “We’re so pleased with the huge wave of support from all our sponsors…” Last year’s tournament raised over $18,000 for the El Paso Drive-a-Meal Program and this year’s event is expected to be just as much of a success.
